Mitsubishi Montero
| | Model of the car: | Mitsubishi Montero | | | General comments: | Can I just say "WOW"?! The reason I am writing this is we just got back from a LONG ROAD TRIP - Carlsbad (San Diego Area) to Granite Falls Washington (about 1hr North of Seattle). It took us 19 hours on the way up, and 18 on the way back, mostly in part because the seats fold all the way into a BED. No kidding. You just take the head rest off of the front seats, and push them all the way forward and all the way back, and the seat melds into the back seat, which also folds down, providing a very decent bed. My 6'5 fiance could stretch the ENTIRE WAY when laying on it - which is key in any road trip - one person sleeps while the other drives. We STILL had room for all of our luggage with BOTH seats making a bed, and when you turn the heated seats on and a down comforter - man, it was downright comfy.
The other thing we LOVED was the "shift-on-the-fly" all wheel drive. This made the car grip the road so well in the notorious pouring Washington rain, and in the mountains, there was no stopping us. No slipping, just gripping. It was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! WE LOVED IT!!! | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | I honestly can't think of any. I had heard once that these things were the number 1 tippiest cars on the market - but we CRUISED up and down 2 mountain passes at well above the legal speed limit, and never even thought about tipping. |
