| | Model of the car: | Montero XLS | | | General comments: | Now that the 2001 Montero exists, buying a Lexus LX470 or a Toyota Lancruiser is no longer a sound economic decision. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Looks... I feel like a naked super model with the amount of attention this truck gets. I've witnessed several close calls because of people turning to look at the truck instead looking where they are going. Rare tail gate window doesn't open. Still wondering how to carry a long ladder safely. | | | Previous car: | 2001 Pathfinder test drive. Pathfinder has a lot more 'getup and go' and feels more like a car during normal driving. But it has much less room, and it leans ponderously in corners. The pathfinder breaking is much less sure footed. |
