| | Model of the car: | Mitsubishi Montero | | | General comments: | We bought our Montero used and was very happy with it until our vacation in Canada. Our Crankshaft Pulley fell out on a very trecherous road at the end of our vacation.
We had to have our Montero towed from Canada into Washington State. At the Mitsubishi dealer in Washington we were told that this type of problem was on a recall.
So thinking what a great company Mitsubishi is that we didn't have to worry. Well of course we were told by the Mitsubishi Company that our specific model did not fall under the recall.
I asked them to please explain how what happened to our vehicle is exactly what was on recall and that we were not covered. I did not get a reasonable answer.
I want people to know that we had 2 of our small grandchildren with us when this
occured. This happened on a very narrow two lane road. Thankfully no one was injured, but believe me that could of easily happened.
And now the company is not standinag behind thier own recall. This is sad.
An exhausting and troublesome ending to a wonderful vacation.
I have been reading up on some of the recalls from Mitsubishi and I was dismayed to see that they have admitted to covering up consumer complaints for 20 years. Believe me we are finished with Mitsubishi products and we will try to convince anyone who is thinking of buying from this company to rethink thier decision. |
