| | Model of the car: | Montero LS | | | General comments: | Montero's hold their value very well (most SUVs do for that matter). We have driven this vehicle for the last 2 years, and the book value has just gotten down to what we paid for it! Yes, we got a good deal to begin with, but very few 5-year-old vehicles are still worth close to 2 | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Both our '90 and our '95 have front brake noise problems. Our '90 squealed, and our '95 grinds. Upon inspection everything looks fine, and braking ability is unaffected. I occasionally have to cross-hatch the brake discs with emery cloth to break the glaze, and then it is fine for a while. | | | Previous car: | 1990 Montero Sport 2dr - more features, more room, more comfortable1987 Isuzu Trooper - like going from a US Army jeep to a Mercedes |
