| | Model of the car: | Mitsubishi Montero SR | | | General comments: | This review is in response to the problem with the 1995 Montero SR that has smoke coming from the exhaust. Apparently Mitsubishi's are famous for the Valve Guides slipping down into the heads. This causes a buring of oil that creates smoke out of the exhaust. Once the valve guides are replaced the problem is solved with no damage done to the vehicle. The replacement valve guides have snaps that prevent them from moving into the heads. I had mine replaced on a 1994 SR at 84.000 and now have 116,000 miles on my 3.5 V6 engine and it runs GREAT!
