| | General comments: | t he Montero has been a very impressive vehicle. I have taken numerous road trips around the country with a full load of heavy tools and haven't had to worry about breaking down. It now has 134,000 miles on it and is still going strong which is rather surprising considering the amount of abuse it has seen in it's life. I only wish Minnesota didn't spread tons of salt on the roads every winter. This has made the rust spread around the wheel wells. Now its time to look for another car, maybe another Montero, but I have to say I prefer the looks of the older MOnteros to the new rounded body style. |
| | What things have gone wrong with the car: | The infamous valve leak or slippage or whatever you want to call it has just recently began on my beloved vehicle.Is there a God in heaven? Is there a simple and relatively inexpensive solution? I really can't say this problem is that bad because the car still runs well but at start up the amount of smoke produced is sometimes embarrassing. |
