| | Model of the car: | 2.5L TurboDiesel | | | General comments: | I bought a 1987 Pajero (Monterey) TDi as my first 4x4. It needed some welding and rust protection to the floorpan, it needed new tires (got Cooper Discovery), and a respray to the lower panelling. It was worth doing that since it was in general very good shape when I got it. Now it is in great shape for a 1987! It is a very reliable vehicle, interior space is excellent, driving experience is great, makes one feel like heading into the mountains or on a long journey into the Lapland tundra every day. It has 370,000 km on its first 2.5 liter turbodiesel engine. Note you American gas lovers, forget your thirsty V8s, TURBODIESEL is the best for torque, and torque is what matters in a 4x4! | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Seat Comfort (no lumbar adjustment), Had To Glue In Seat Heater Switches (Design Flaw), Awful Heavy Steering In Tight Turning With 4x4 Mode, Expensive To Service. | | | Previous car: | None. |
